Dr. Leadriane Roby (pronounced Lee-dree-in Robe-ee) is the Superintendent of Grand Rapids Public Schools, a position she has held since 2020. The Superintendent’s Scholar Advisory Council is a forum where scholars actively contribute to shaping policies, programs, and initiatives that directly influence their educational experience at Grand Rapids Public Schools. The council, composed of a junior and senior representative from each GRPS high school, meets monthly during the school year. Each session addresses key topics related to education, student life, and ways to enhance the district as a whole, ensuring that scholar voices are central to the decision-making process.
The Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA, is a law that provides the public the right to request access to public records. It is the policy of Grand Rapids Public Schools that all persons are entitled to full and complete information regarding governmental decision-making, consistent with FOIA. Per Board Policy 2810-R, all individuals desiring to inspect or receive a copy of a public record shall make a written request to the FOIA Coordinator that describes the public record sufficiently to enable the FOIA Coordinator, or his/her designee, to identify and locate the public record.
