City of Southfield Breaks Ground on New $26 Million Aquatic Center
The City of Southfield officially broke ground on its new Aquatic Center on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, marking a major investment in recreation, wellness and family fun for the community. Residents of all ages joined City leaders and project partners outside the Southfield Sports Arena, 26000 Evergreen Road, for the celebration, a clear sign of how much this project means to the Southfield community. The new Aquatic Center replaces the former Sports Arena pool, which closed due to aging infrastructure, giving residents a modern facility right here at home.
